    Morning everyone :)

I was up early this morning as I couldn't sleep for some reason!

Here are pictures of my peas and my sunflowers. The peas were planted in April and some of you advised me on what to do as I had never grown peas before. As you can see your advice was excellent. More peas for tea tonight with chicken carbonara. :)

I am doing some exercise and a run with Charlotte this morning so no doubt I will need a nap after that.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

    Lots of love.

    Hi everyone,

I hope that your week is going well?

I have been pottering around the house and garden. The peas we planted and the sunflowers are doing really well and I am going to have some of the peas with my fish pie tonight!! :) I will try and put some pics on the web for you.

I have rescued three bees from in the conservatory today. Goodness knows why they fly in.

Charlotte has gone to Chester Zoo today with her best friend Alex.

Alex and Char worked in the same school in Beijing together. Alex is having to return to Beijing to teach and Char has got a new job in Warsaw. I am really glad that she isn't having to go back there and I know Alex is a bit scared too.

During lockdown, Charlotte and I have adopted an animal each, from Chester Zoo. I have adopted a capybara (if you don't know what that is you can do a little research on them). I really fell in love with them when I took my Reception Class to Haigh Hall Zoo in ..... oooooo..... 1986!! I'd never seen one before and I found them fascinating. Char has adopted a kimodo dragon. Much more grand don't you think??

Anyway, Josh and I took the cars in for service this morning and we are going to get them in a minute so hope you all have a lovely evening!!

    Lots of love .

    Mrs. Perry :)

    Good afternoon to you all.
We have reached the last day, safe and sound!! It has been a very strange end to the term, with very few children to wave off. :((
I will be in touch over the summer, but you will be glad to know that it won't be every day so you can have a rest too.
Details of staggered start and finish times are on the website from today.
Don't worry about September.... it will be fine and it will be a great day to welcome you all back and see you again.!!
    Have a lovely summer.

    Dear Parents and Carers
The end is in sight!!. Staff have been in school today, putting some of the rooms as back to normal as they can be. In most of the classrooms, tables are facing forwards and children will not work in groups as they normally would. I have to say though, I think we quite like it and we are more than willing to give it a go!
As you know Willow, Lilac and Oak children will return to their current teacher. Hawthorn and Years 3 to 6 will go to their new teachers. All these classes are expected in on Wednesday 2nd September. Our new Reception children will be phased in, in the week beginning 7th September.
The children will be expected to wear school uniform.
Until the week beginning 14th September, if your child wants a school lunch then this will be a packed lunch. From this date, if our plans are moving along smoothly, then the usual menu will be on offer. Our Cook Joe, is really looking forward to getting back to providing a full menu. For those first eight days, I am keeping things simple and not trying to run before we can walk (as it were).
I have also attached an Inclusion and SEND letter form the Local Authority. It has details of support over summer.
I will be in touch with more details tomorrow.
    Have a lovely evening.

     Dear Parents and Carers

We have had a lovely day. Year 4 enjoyed their picnic on the field. There was lots of bubbles and more than a little rain. I hope the Y4 parents enjoyed my very fetching poncho?

We said goodbye to our Year 6 children this afternoon. :((

This was a Leavers Service with a difference but I have to say it worked! I loved listening to the staff talking about the children with such knowledge and affection. I said one thing to every child when I gave them their cross. 'We are here if you need us'. I meant it.

We give them a cross, yes, because we are a church school but also to help the children remember the love we have shared with them while they have been with us. I talk about love with the children in assembly regularly. It is the most important value for me.

If we have love then all other values: respect; forgiveness; trust; tolerance etc  all fall into place.

Best wishes and love go to all our Year 6's. I expect to see them in their 'too big uniforms' in September.

I speak to Mr. Bell fairly regularly and I believe the High Schools have a thorough transition package to welcome the children in Year 7.

I have attached a letter from Karen Dolton (Bury Local Authority) to all parents of children returning in September.

    Have a lovely evening everyone!!!

    Tue 14 Jul 2020

    Dear Parents and Carers

I am STILL waiting for further information regarding the Bury Offer on summer schemes. I have spoken to our Coach Leon. Your children know him well. Leon was planning our school summer scheme but in light of the work on the drains he will be based at Bury Grammar School this summer.

The details of the BGS summer scheme is below. Just follow the link for information.

I have also been working with Mrs. Hardy to get an idea when Smarties can re-open in the Autumn Term. There is a lot to consider. All the children will be in their class bubbles and these bubbles must apply to Smarties as well. (You see the immediate issues of staffing, numbers etc).

Priority needs to be given to the safe return of our pupils. Smarties will re-open but this will not be until the middle of September at the earliest. I know that parents need to get back to work but the safe return of our children is paramount, whether it is in school or in Smarties.

As you will know, the children will work in their class bubbles and school needs to ensure that bubbles do not mix, where possible. St. Margaret's was built for 190 pupils. We currently have 243 on roll. I think you can appreciate the challenge of bringing  back such a large number.

We will try our utmost to make the return as safe as possible for everyone. Your children have been missed and there is a strong desire to make things work in September from every member of staff and Governor.

I hope to see as many of you as possible before the end of term.

    Have a lovely evening

    Mon 13 Jul 2020

    Hi everyone :)

I have been in school all day today and every time I went outside it poured down with rain. Picture this also …. Mrs. Cleary was welcoming her children into school this morning. She had no coat! Mrs. Barnes let her (insisted she) borrow her very fetching orange poncho. She looked like she was on her holidays at Disney Land and started singing and dancing  a Disney song.!!

I am still trying to find out about summer scheme provision for you. The school will need to close due to drainage work, so we cannot put on our planned scheme.

I am also working with Smarties staff to discuss how/if we can re-open Smarties at some point in September. The Government's safety guidance makes re-opening Smarties very very difficult. I know that working parents need before and after school care. However, whatever we do, needs to be within the Government's safety guidelines. I am doing my best to see what can be done.

Please take care and have a lovely evening.

    Lots of love

    Good evening all :))

I hope you have had a good weekend?

I have been doing the garden and pottering around, thinking of what needs doing before the end of term. Reports will be out this week. I know a report seems very strange after weeks of lockdown, but I was very keen that school celebrated the part of the year that was completed.

I will be in touch tomorrow with more end of term info.

The Local Authority assured me that information would be circulated, from them,  to schools about the availability of summer schemes. I have not received this information yet. As soon as I get the details I will forward them to you.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

    Fri 10 Jul 2020

    To all Parents and Carers,

I hope you have had a lovely Friday. We have in school!! It was lovely to see the Year 5s today. Information is now starting to go out to the infant parents about arrangements for September and now that our current pupils are settled back in school, I can begin to welcome our new Reception parents.

The last few weeks have been really difficult in terms of arranging all the different groups returning to school and making sure that safety comes first. It has been lovely to see their smiling faces. Thank you again for all your support.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Mrs. Perry:)
