Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed some happy family time. I am writing to give you an update on the issues that you will no doubt be hearing about in the news and on social media.
I am very happy to hear that Primary Schools can re-open as normal. That, for us is January 6th. It is my firm belief that our children are better off in school, learning alongside their classmates. Your child's teacher keenly wants them there so that we can all learn and grow together. Our staggered entry and exit to and from school will be maintained as will the risk assessment that we have in place.
You may have heard that mass testing will be rolled out in schools. I am keeping up to date with developments here and will learn more in a Schools Advisory Group meeting tomorrow afternoon. (More details to follow!). What I do know is that the programme will start in High Schools FROM the beginning of term. The timescale and arrangements for Primary Schools are unclear at this time. If mass testing was to be offered in Primary schools, it is a parents decision whether to give consent or not.
I will keep you up to date with new information as it becomes available.
I hope that you have a lovely New Years Eve.
Lots of love.
Mrs. Perry :)

Dear Parents and Carers and PTA members,
Please can I say a huge thank you to everyone for the beautiful gifts you donated for the raffles.
There were 25 prizes of top quality, all wrapped by the PTA. We drew the raffle from my office via Zoom at 1pm so that everyone could watch the proceedings. Considering everything that we have all been through this year I am humbled by your generosity.
The staff donated to a chocolate raffle and all the children had a free ticket. The winner was a lucky member of Year 3.
Christmas arrangements - school will finish on Friday 18th December at 2.30pm. Please remember to collect your child an hour early and keep to the staggered system.
School staff will be engaging in track and trace for the first seven days of the holiday. This is to keep families informed if they need to alter their Christmas plans. I sincerely hope not! If your child has a positive result please let the school office know so that we can communicate with the relevant people.
Thank you again to parents, carers and PTA members.
Have a restful weekend.
Mrs. Perry :)

Dear Parents and Carers,
You may have seen on the news that schools have the option to close a day early for Christmas. St. Margaret's will continue with plans to close on Friday 18th December. At the end of each term St Margaret’s has always finished at 2:30pm. This year will be slightly different in that your child's class will finish 1 hour earlier than their usual staggered finish time. This allows the school to limit the number of people on the premises, along with finishing slightly earlier just like previous terms.
The reason for our decision not to close one day earlier is that staff have some lovely Christmas plans for the children. They have missed so much already that we do not want them to miss out further. Also, to change our term dates now is short notice for some of you to arrange child care and life has had enough short notice changes for all of us this term.
Have a lovely evening.
Mrs. Perry. :)
Good afternoon to all Parents and Carers.
It is so lovely to see Year 6 back today!! We have missed them. The Year 6 staff have decorated the classroom and the room looks very festive.
Schools have been asked by the Government to carry on with the Testing and Tracking System into the Christmas holidays. School will be doing this until Christmas Eve.
If your child has COVID symptoms AND has a positive test, please inform school. This can be done via email. There will not be anyone in the school office from Friday December 18th, when we finish for Christmas, so school is not contactable by phone.
School needs this information so that other children/adults in each class can be forewarned that there has been a positive case in the class. Your family will then be able to make a judgement on whether you need to alter your Christmas plans. As a parent myself, I would want to know this information.
Between the 24th December and the 4th January, school staff will be taking a well earned break.
If your child has symptoms or a positive test on the 4th January, school needs to know so that we can make any necessary arrangements for the new term. School re-opens on the 6th January.
If your child has symptoms DO NOT SEND THEM IN TO SCHOOL. These are the rules! This applies even if they have been isolating and have not been out of the house. The likelihood is that other family members will have been.
I cannot stress this enough.
Keep safe and well Mrs. Perry.
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been lovely to welcome back Lilac and Willow Class this week. The school has been a very quiet place without them and I know the all staff have missed them.
Thank you so much for your support and patience in these difficult times.
Have a lovely evening.
Mrs. Perry :)
