Wednesday 7th July
Wed 07 Jul 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
I thought I would email you following the Governments announcements this week. I know that restrictions are being lifted. However, the arrangements at St. Margaret's will remain the same until the end of term. As soon as I can give you more information about what the Autumn Term will look like I will do so.
Have a lovely evening. Let's hope for an England win!

Sunday 6th June
Sun 06 Jun 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you have had a restful holiday and managed to spend time with family??
All the staff are looking forward to seeing the children on Wednesday. (Tuesday is a staff training day).
All the usual systems will be in place to keep the children, staff and parents as safe as possible, so please keep to the allocated drop off and pick up times for your child(ren).
Staff will be considering how to enjoy the rest of the summer term, including whether we can have a sports day. We think we can but it may not look exactly the same as previous years.
Classes will not go on actual school trips this next term. However, we will be planning ways for the children to enjoy what will hopefully be good weather, either in the school grounds or perhaps in Heaton Park.
I have asked the staff to consider a trip for their classes in the new school year.
I am looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday.

Friday 28th May
Fri 28 May 2021Dear Parents and Carers
We reached the holidays without having to send anyone home!! What a relief. Thank you for supporting the school in keeping to social distancing advice and keeping to COVID regulations.
Your children have been a pleasure to work with once again, this half term.
Have a lovely week off.
Keep safe and well.
Mrs. Perry.

Thursday 20th May
Thu 20 May 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
I have just come out of my weekly meeting with the Local Authority and Head Teacher colleagues. I find the meetings useful because I can keep you all up to date with the latest issues, especially COVID related.We need to continue to be cautious because the Indian variant (which I will refer to as B 16.( It's actually B.1.617.2 but I think that would be too much for my brain to cope with!) is so infectious. The new cases of B16 have doubled in the last week in Bury so in school we will be keeping to all our restrictions. We don't need to panic just continue to be sensible.
The local authority's advice on end of summer term events is to keep it simple and safe and as 'outside as possible'.
More to follow tomorrow. Have a lovely evening.

Thursday 13th May
Thu 13 May 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
Everyone in school would like to say 'Eid Mubarak' to all our Muslim families. We hope that you have a very happy celebration.
We have sent a newsletter home this week that should be in your child's bag. School has since received further guidance (today) on the current COVID situation in Bury and the North West. The Indian Variant is evident in Bury and as you will know from the news, it is extremely contagious. As a result school will continue to stick to all current arrangements. Please do not panic!! We don't need to.
We have done really well this half term and I do not see why this should not continue as long as we all:
- Keep to entry and exit times;
- Wear masks while on the school premises;
- Staff will continue to wear masks in communal places;
- Socially distance as far as possible in and outside school;
- Keep children at home if they are unwell. Symptoms in children are wide ranging. Give them 48 hours to see what emerges;
- If your child has a fever, a cough, fatigue or loss of sense/smell, keep them at home and have a PCR test;
- If your child has a headache, tummy ache or generally feels unwell keep them at home;
- Use COVID common sense.
Let's just remain cautious. I am really hopeful that if we continue to work together to do this then we will all remain safe and well.
Have a lovely evening.
Mrs. Perry :)

Wednesday 28th April
Wed 28 Apr 2021Dear Parents and Carers,
The week is proceeding well in school. Things just seem to be slightly easier and calmer since we returned after Easter. This is helped by parents bringing the children at the allocated times. It makes such a difference, thank you.
I am very pleased to hear the news that having just the first jab seems to reduce the chance of transmission by around 40%. Unlike me!!! you young ones will still be waiting for your first jab so please keep adhering to the regulations. The first priority for us at St. Margaret's is to welcome the children back safely and then to keep them here.
COVID has taken a toll on all of us and for some of our families significantly. Please be re-assured that when your children are in school they are trying their best in class and they are enjoying themselves when playing with their friends on the playground.
As always, if you feel the need to speak to staff about a concern, we are on hand before and after school. (Rain or shine!!)
Have a lovely evening.
Mrs. Perry.

Sunday 25th April
Sun 25 Apr 2021Good afternoon to everyone,
I am really pleased to say that things seemed to go really calmly last week. I think the beautiful weather helped. Thank you for trying to keep to drop off and pick up times. That was a definite positive.
Let's hope that this week is just as successful.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Mrs. Perry.
