This area includes pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) as well as those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). A Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) assesses a child's speech, language, communication and social interaction skills to identify strengths and areas of need. They may provide recommendations and programmes to help develop understanding of language, expressive language, speech sounds, vocabulary, social communication and conversational skills. ASC support can be further requested from Bury SEND via a  Single Point Access referral following school`s Graduated Approach to meeting needs.
