Phonics Lead - Miss Glover

At St Margaret's, we use Supersonic Phonic Friends as our scheme to deliver daily phonics lessons. Children engage with phonics from the very beginning of their school journey in Reception, and additional teaching to support individual learners to keep up with their peers is prioritised.

Supersonic Phonic lessons are fun, engaging and logically sequenced to ensure children's learning and progress is maximised. Children are assessed at regular points in the teaching sequence and tracked to ensure that gaps are closed quickly.

Children's home reading books are carefully-matched to their phonics knowledge to ensure that their home reading focuses on embedding their existing phonics knowledge, developing their reading fluency and building a love of reading.
