Music Subject Statement

The intention of our music curriculum is first and foremost to help children to feel that they are musical and to develop a life-long love of music. We focus on developing the skills, knowledge and understanding that children need in order to become confident performers, composers and listeners. Singing is embedded throughout our curriculum, through our music lessons in classrooms, collective worship and in weekly singing assemblies. 

St.Margaret's is well-supported by the Bury Music Services who come in on a weekly basis to provide music lessons to some of our children.

Music at St.Margaret's is taught through the Kapow Music Programme.

Music Development Plan 2024-2025

From the start of the 24/25 academic year the DfE have published guidance which states schools should produce a development plan for music stating how it is taught in school.
