week beginning 11.01.21- Looking at and sorting materials and their properties

Week beginning 18.01.21 - looking at materials and describing and matching them to their properties.

week beginning 25.01.21. This week in science we are looking at the words that we would use to describe the properties of different materials. There is a slide on the PowerPoint with the vocabulary that you may need. however you may wish to add your own. One of the activities is to use a feely bag. This may be a new activity/concept to some of you. All you need is a bag that the children can't see through. Place an object in the bag and describe it using the vocabulary that you have talked about. Can the children identify the object? Then let your child have a go- they may find this a little tricky at first but with good modelling from yourself they should get there!

week beginning 01.02.21. This week in science we are looking at materials that are natural and those that are manmade. Have a look at the powerpoint and then see if you can sort the materials into those that are natural and those that are manmade.
