Welcome Back!!!!

Good afternoon to all parents and carers

I am emailing at the end of our first full week back in school. It has been lovely to welcome all the children back and see them settle in their new classes. They have all made a really positive start to the new school year.

It has been a relief to be able to welcome all the children in to school at the same time and not have staggered start and finish times.

However, once inside school we are keeping to all previous COVID restrictions. Sanitising and cleaning regimes remain, as do class bubbles. This is in line with Bury Public Health recommendations and  will remain in place until at least the end of September. The numbers of COVID cases locally are high and at least two local schools have had to send whole class bubbles home because more than 10% of the class have tested positive.

School has been recommended to remain cautious and that is why we are keeping to our previous restrictions.

One positive change has been recommended by the Government. If a child tests positive for COVID the whole class no longer has to isolate and can remain in school. It is however, advised that children who have been in close contact are taken for a PCR test but can continue as normal whilst they await their results. A child who receives a positive result is required to self-isolate as per latest government guidelines.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Keep safe and well.

Mrs. Perry.
