Physical Features - Tuesday (19.01.2021)
Last week we learnt the difference between physical and human geography. Over the coming weeks we will be looking at these different features and identifying what they are. This week we are going to look at Continents, seas, Oceans, Countries and Islands. The children should be able to already identify the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world as we have done this in school in September. These songs may jog their memory.
Task: Look at the powerpoint to discover what each feature is. Or you could even see if you can find this information in books you have at home. Once the children have an understanding I want them to find a picture of each feature (or use the ones below if you have limited time) and use their own words to describe it. What does it need to have? What does it look like? For example; It is a Sea. It needs to be a large area of water. It needs to be smaller than an Ocean. No printing needed this can be on any piece of paper.
Human and Physical Geography: Tuesday 12.01.2021
This term we are looking at the different features around us. Are these physical or human geography? Look at. the powerpoint to go through the different features and then complete the cutting and sorting activity. Watch the video on the BBC website too.
